My wife and I have been researching the role of a probate attorney.  This is something that neither of us has ever even thought about, but since my wife’s dad passed away and his estate is going into probate; we felt the need to learn more.  My mother in law is going to retain a probate attorney to help her sort everything out.   She is making a wise decision.  Once she hires a competent, experienced, and reliable New York probate attorney, a lot of the stress will be relieved in the family.  I didn’t know it, but my in-laws divorced about ten years ago and he was married briefly to a woman that is contesting the will.
