Have you heard about the upcoming hybrid with solar panels? Toyota won’t officially comment on it (that’s their policy) but it has been leaked to the media by several reliable sources that Toyota is going to be releasing a Toyota Prius with solar panels installed. Now this doesn’t mean that it’s going to run solely on sun power – solar panels aren’t quite that efficient just yet. However, what it does mean is that the power generated from the sun will help supplement the power used by the cars electrical system (like your air conditioner). It’ll be a cool way to improve the mileage. The geek in me really thinks it would be cool to have solar panels on my vehicle even if they’re not as practical as I’d like them to be.
