A difficult road ahead for recruiting?
According to some of the latest news items, 2008 could be a very difficult year for employees — a recent 2008 layoffs forecast indicates that many companies are planning to make significant staff reductions in the not so distant future. The lack of available positions means that it will be very difficult for companies to keep up their recruiting efforts, as they will have fewer positions to offer prospective new employees. And with a great number of layoffs, the job market will be flooded with people who are out of work — making competition for the few available jobs very intense.
