Use credit card alternatives wisely

Once you have found credit card alternatives, it is in your best interest to use those wisely. Not doing so can lead to more financial problems than having a high credit card balance. For instance, the debit card is an excellent alternative to credit cards. You pay directly from your checking account for purchases, which will reduce the feeling that you have a limitless amount to spend. However, some retailers will process debit card payments just as credit cards, which means that the amount will not hit your account for two or more days. You have to be sure that you have the right dollar amount available to cover the payment when it hits to avoid overdraft fees.
