Every human being has six abdominal muscles, known collectively as your “six pack”. They are the transversus abdominis, a pair of internal obliques, a pair of external obliques, and your “rectus abdominus”. The later muscle, the “rectus abdominus”, is the most superficial muscle out of all of the six. What that means is that the other five muscles are layered underneath this one, deeper in the abdominal cavity and this is the outermost one.
