Is Puricase effective to Treat Gout?

The registered tradename for pegloticase that has been developed by Savient Pharmaceuticals for treatment failure gout is the Puricase. Due to uric acid crystals being deposited into the joints this causes the development of gout.  Drugs are currently used to get the kidney to excrete fro uric acid or to prevent the breakdown of the food that contains purine into uric acid. Generally, the usual drugs work well, but some people are either resistant to the drugs or the drug fails to work properly. That is where puricase comes in to provide hope to those whose treatment has failed with the standard treatments. The main clinical trials have been completed and the drug is awaits approval.
