The Role of American Red Cross
The American Red Cross is the country’s reliable emergency response association. It was established in 1881 by visionary leader Clara Barton to render charitable care to the casualties of war and helping victims of devastating disasters by nature.
As time passes by, the service of the American Red Cross expanded by adding humanitarian services in five (5) more branches including the following: “(1) services in the community that aid those who are in need (2) help and comfort for military members and their loved ones (3) the compilation, processing and allocation of lifesaving blood and blood merchandises (4) educational programs that encourage health and safety (5) and global relief and development programs.”
