Visitation Privileges for Grandparents

When you think about divorce and the child custody issues that arise from it, rarely do you consider the concerns of the grandparents. More often than not, the grandparents are left wondering when they will be able to see their grandkids again if the other parent gets legal custody.  Luckily there are custody rights for grandparents although they are not as well known in legal circles.  There are specific petitions that can be filed in order to secure a regular visitation schedule.  The judge bases the amount of visitation time on how much the grandparent was involved with their grandkids prior to the divorce proceedings.
