In Genesis we learn that man was created in God’s image.  But because we chose to sin we were allowed to die and not continue on forever.   In Psalms we are told that man was created below the status of angels so we know that a hierarchy was established.  The angel was purely spiritual while man was of a physical nature.  Evidently,  although the angle was created good like man,  some of them choose to rebel and were thrown out of heaven into hell where they now serve Satan as their master.  We,  as humans, are subject to the conflict between the good and the bad angels.
