Grand Canyon Walkway

The Grand Canyon Sky Walk (also called the Grand Canyon walkway) was the result of the initiative of the Hualapai tribe of Arizona when they embarked on a building project to generate income for Canyon West, their reservation, by creating an amazing tourist attraction. Construction of this incredible structure commenced in 2004 and was opened by elders of the tribe in March 2007. Buzz Aldrin (well known astronaut of NASA’s moon mission) was also part of the group that opened this remarkable bridge which is horse shoe in shape and is almost 1 mile above the Colorado River. The Grand Canyon Walkway which spans a distance of 70 feet from the canyon rim is made totally from clear glass so that the full awe-inspiring effect of the canyon below can be captured. It is not the friendliest place if you are afraid of heights.
