Two methods to solve the spoolsv.exe application error

The Spoolsv.exe is a program that is responsible for the printing activities on a Windows system. If you are getting the spoolsv.exe application error, the most likely reason for it is that the spool directory has too many .SHD and .SPL files. So, you would think that deleting these files should work given that these files are of no use anymore. However, this always doesn’t work.

If deleting files doesn’t solve the spoolsv.exe – application error, you can do a System Restore to the time prior to the appearance of the error. To do so, go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore. Select the Restore my computer to an earlier time option, and then select the restore point. Finally, verify and click Next again to confirm your restore point and proceed with the system restore. When prompter, restart your PC.
